DoubleDiamondDeals.com
Clients:
Greg Baier, Kevin Hall, Dylan Hall
Year:
November, 2008
Platform:
ASP.NET 3.5, MSSQL Server 2005
Description:
The aim was to create an engaging web-front that Greg and Dylan could use to market
quality products at extremely discounted prices, based on a one-product-at-a-time model.
The result was a custom-developed solution that used AJAX to make the web-application
work very similar to a desktop application, including a background screensaver,
that doubled as a marketing tool. The system allowed for easy catalog and product
queue management to ensure that the clients spent minimal amounts of time setting
up and managing the system.
I spent quite a few sleepless nights working on this project, which is quite
truely one of the best pieces of software I have ever delivered.
Lunessa.com
Clients:
Elise Perelman
Year:
November, 2006
Platform:
ASP 3.0, MSSQL Server 2005
Description:
Elise Perelman, a New York-based jewellery designer, was looking for a web-based
e-commerce platform to market her creations, in addition to her store. The project
called for a clean SEO-friendly e-commerce solution that was easy to manage and
use, while being powerful enough to handle a product catalog of over 500 products
and variants.
The solution, developed in Classic ASP 3.0, boasts of user-generated vanity URLs
for every product category and product in the catalog, real-time payment processing
through Paypal, and a complete Back-Office system to manage the product catalog
and sales process.
MarkItNow.co.uk
Clients:
Alan Crowley
Year:
August, 2004
Platform:
ASP 3.0, MSSQL Server 2000
Description:
The project called for the development of a web application that allowed for creation
and management of a vast library of homework assignments, and the facility to allow
teachers to set an assignment for a class of students and have the system grade
it automatically. Furthermore, the system was to be used by school children and
therefore called for extremely friendly and intuitive UI.
Built on Classic ASP 3.0 with an MS SQL Server 2000 database, this was one of the
most complex projects I have undertaken. Not only was it extremely demanding in
terms of performance, but a lot went into the designing a UI that would be simply
and yet highly responsive, pushing my cross-browser Javascript coding to the limit.
This was pretty much a long term project and I ended up working on it over a 3 year
period. But without a doubt, I throughly enjoyed the learning experience that this
project turned out to be. In a way, this project led to the setting up of IdeaPort.
